A career journalist and editor, I cover topics ranging from software to health to travel. My specialty is food, including recipe development, culinary customs and history, product information, and profiles of industry individuals.

   I am the editor of Taste of the Seacoast, a semiannual magazine covering food, wine, and entertainment in coastal New Hampshire, northeastern Massachusetts, and southern Maine. For nearly 10 years, I was the food editor for Hannaford supermarket’s fresh, a bimonthly cooking magazine. I also consult for food-related apps and websites.

   I’ve edited over 1,600 recipes, and developed several hundred of my own. My writing has appeared in numerous publications, including the Boston Globe, Cooking Light,,,USA Today, and YankeeI am the author of and contributor to several food-related books, including Culinary Tea and How to Keep Kosher.

   TV and radio appearances include CBS This Morning, Food Network, The Main Ingredient (Lifetime), WGBH’s One Guest, New England Cable News, WCVB's Chronicle,  and WBUR’s The Connection.

   Long before smartphones made taking photos as easy as breathing, I carried a camera, and I still do. Unless otherwise indicated, all photos on this site were taken by me. My pictures often accompany articles I write.

   A graduate of Brown University, I live in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
